Sweetgrass

The documentary Sweetgrass (directed by Ilisa Barbash & Lucien Castaing-Taylor) is an official selection at the New York Film Festival ‘09, a verse of historical event of summer 2003 when a group of shepherds flock sheep though the Beartooth Mountains of Montana in preparation for market. It was a journey of almost 300 kilometers through expansive green valleys, gusty winds, deep snow by fields of snow, and across hazardous, narrow ridges – a journey brimming with challenges.
The aging shepherds do their very best to keep the hundreds of sheep together, It’s no easy journey that require shielding the sheep and themselves across the deep forest to protect them from bears and wolves hungry for defenseless prey.
